Failure of payment to the Circle J Futurity by the winning bidder for auction stud service shall result in disqualification of that stallion’s get for the particular year which the said stallion’s yearlings would have been eligible for the yearling Futurity class.

These breedings shall be declared IN WRITING at about six months of gestation (but before foal is born) to the Futurity Board. Note: Breedings purchased at the Circle J Auction shall be good until the get is shown at the Circle J show as long as the stallion owner honors the contract.  The Futurity must be notified in writing that you wish to carryover the breeding.

JUDGING:

A three-judge system will be used, using a point system of 1 to 100, 100 being highest score. The class will be conducted in two rounds.  Each round will be scored separately.  No scores will carry over from round one to round two. In the first round, each yearling will show individually. A random drawing will be held to determine the numerical order of appearance of each yearling.  Any owner or trainer who is showing more than one entry and draws consecutive spots will be given a new draw. There will be a call judge.  After trotting through the in-gate, each yearling has up to 90 seconds in which to be judged. He shall be shown standing and then at a trot. The handler then has the remainder of the 90 seconds to exhibit and show the yearling to its best advantage. At the end of the time allotment, the yearling must immediately leave the ring. The next yearling shall then enter and show in the same manner.  Each entry should be waiting at the in-gate for its turn. After the final yearling is judged, show officials will tabulate the scores. The ten yearlings scoring the highest will be asked to return to the in-gate for the second round.  These entries shall enter the ring together and the class shall be run as a new in-hand class.

The judges may ask to compare the yearlings at this time. After all the entries have been judged, scores will be tabulated using the MOS judging system and 1st thru 10th place will be awarded in reverse order. All handlers are required to dress in formal attire. CLASS RULES SUBJECT TO CHANGE 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE CLASS.

AUCTION GET: A get that is the result of a breeding purchased at the Circle J Futurity Auction. An Auction-Get breeding must be declared in writing to the Futurity Board BEFORE the foal is born. If embryo transfers are involved you must declare only ONE embryo, but must record all other like breedings with the Futurity Board. If like breedings are not recorded with this board, the resulting Auction-Get shall show as a Non-Auction Get, and the Non-Auction Get payout shall apply.  Breedings purchased at the Circle J Auction shall be good until the get is shown at the Circle J show as long as the stallion owner honors the contract.

NON-AUCTION GET: Get sired by an auctioned stallion, but the breeding was not purchased at the auction. To show in the Futurity, Non-Auction Get must be sired by a stallion in the auction for that year. A list of stallions is listed below.

NAME YOUR MARE SLOT: An Auction Get slot will be auctioned for a to-be-named mare. Any stallion can be used but the stud fee will be at the breeder’s expense. The successful bidder shall name the mare to be used when declaring the breeding, which must be done BEFORE the foal is born.  Forms are on website or call Marilyn or Julie.
